something entirely
your own
We take on a small number of commissions each quarter — one-of-a-kind objects developed in close collaboration with the person who will live with them.
Brief
Describe the object you have in mind — its purpose, the space it will occupy, the material and scale you imagine. A sketch, a reference image, or simply a paragraph of text. There is no wrong way to brief us.
Develop
We come back with questions and a rough model. You shape the direction until the design is resolved. You receive a render for approval before any material is committed.
Form
The approved design is printed at our workshop in Westport — in two-tone PLA by default, or in alternative materials by arrangement. We send progress photographs before dispatch.
Deliver
Shipped in protective packaging with a short document describing the piece, its materials, and care instructions. Lead time is quoted per project, typically two to four weeks.
what to include
A commission brief doesn't need to be exhaustive — we fill in the gaps together. The most useful briefs tend to cover:
- The object
What is it? What will it do or hold? Functional, decorative, or both?
- Scale
Rough dimensions, or the space it needs to fit into.
- Material feel
Heavy or light? Matte or slightly sheen? Monochrome or two-tone?
- References
Images, objects, forms that feel right — or wrong. Both are useful.
- Timeline
Any fixed deadlines — a gift, an exhibition, a date that matters.
